I am running the Standard version of vROps and have a dashboard called Self Troubleshooting which allows you to select multiple objects and view combined metrics. This dashboard only seems to be available to me and i can't figure out a way to share with others. Is this because it'ss come from an earlier version of vROps and not able to be shared with others?

If so, is there any way that i can get metrics for multiple machines without having to select each one individually? I've tried creating a group but i'm unable to select CPU, memory metrics against it.

Hi, not sure if that can be tweaked, but here is my situation (I'm running linux host with windows quest):

* guest player is maximized (not fullscreen)

* open some host application in window that partially obscures the player

* click inside player window - the click is sent to the guest and processed, but the player is not being brought to the foreground - the opened host application window still obscures it. Clicking on player border/clicking on player task bar button properly activates it.

Is it supposed to work like that (I'm new to vmware) ? It would seem minor inconvenience, but a bit frustrating when i'm used switching to visible applications simply by clicking on them.

Trying out App Volumes 4 with UEM and I am using shortcuts that have "check if %programdiles%\insetprogram.exe exists" enabled on my shortcuts.

The ones that doesn't have that works, the ones that is checking does not work.

It works with AppStacks 2.18, and it worked with 4.0 Beta, but not GA version.

The AppStacks Packages are being connected as they should, I can start word, or whatever I have in Appvolume so they are there and registered in Windows, but mu uem shortcuts doesn't  work

Anyone else trying out 4.0 and having troubles?

I upgraded my 7.x environment to 7.10 and using a new Windows 10 Image tried to build a new Instant Clone pool. However the pool fails to publish. It creates a CP_Template vm and joins it to the domain, but then stalls out and displays this message:

Publish Error:

• Fault type is UNKNOWN_FAULT_FATAL - After waiting for 300 seconds internal template VM
• vm-998 is still not powered off. Giving up!
  
  

The time on the vm is correct, vmware tools is up to date, the hosts are running 6.7U2 and have all patches installed. So far VMWare support hasn't been able to resolve the issue either. Not sure where to go next, composer and full machine clones both work fine so I'm probably just going to go back to using composer as it has proven to be more reliable.

I´ve some trouble to satisfy a user request. In fact this user will decide, if we turn our test envrionment to production ...

a key-requirement for our View-Windows-Desktops is, to support softphone; no problem, I thought because RTAV should work. And in fact: RTAV works!

But using RTAV allows to use only one audio out device - and the user wants to select via Cisco Jabber Client two different audio out devices:

Cisco Jabber Client offers the possibility to select three options for audio:

- speaker (1)

- microphone  (2)

- and warnings (3)

for (1) and (3) with RTAV I can only choose the VMware Virtual Audio (DevTap) device, (and for (2) of course VMware Virtual Microphone).

My question: can I select to different devices for audio out, so that the user can hear the softphone ringing (the warning sounds) via the pc-speaker and then, after he has picked up the phone the sound comes only from the headset?

I´ve also tried the Teradici Audio drivers - no success.

And even if I use USB-redirection for the headset, I can´t get it to work: either the sound comes ONLY from the headset or from the speakers. although in Cisco Jabber Client audio settings I can then select different devices for (1) and (3) by using USB-redirecton. ....

My recent idea is, to use a separate USB-Soundcard for the warning sounds. Has sombody tried this before ...?

The parsing is correct but the event time does not use the provided timestamp but the time when the log data is processed by the agent..

I've got some questions that have probably been asked quite some time but jet I cloud not find anything for me.

I have two installations with 2-3 ESXI hosts running 5.5 (ESXI and VCSA). One of the installation is running FC, the other is running on iSCSI.

It is planed to replace these deployments with ne installations. These will be installed parallel to the old one. Right now I think about how to move the VMs to the new VCSA Farm.

I had the following scenarios in mind:

1. VMWare Converter --> Question: is the Converter still supported and recomended for vCenter to vCenter migrations? Why is the converter still on a release 6.2 from 2017-12-14?

2. Copy the whole VM Folder from datastore to a local windows machine and than copy it to the new datastore

3. Backup VMs from the old vCenter site and restore VMs to the new vCenter site for instance with veeam backup?

As far as I found there is no way of letting old 5.5 vCenter communicate with the new 6.7 vCenter in order to move the VMs to the new location?

A 2 host cluster. 2 nics (vmnic0 and vmnic1) are used in a default vDS with management and vMotion.

Configuring cluster with NSX finishes with a "Partial Success". Hosts are TZ members and N-VDS is created, but the TEPs aren't.

For both hosts (only difference are the IPs used for each one).

Tried checking manager.log and vmkernel.log but couldn't find anything that seemed like errors.

I am trying to create a vRA8 blueprint in which I can select either (1 or 2) NIC's and have the option to add additional drives to a blueprint.  Requests will be consumed through the API, not through Service Broker.

I was hoping the "count" property for the disks or network cards could help, but I get errors during deployment if I try to use them.

Is there another way to add a NIC or drive through an ABX action prior to allocation? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

I have a problem where we have 2 different RDSH farms created for different applications (mainly because the client uses different versions of Office e.g. Free Office and Microsoft Office, and they didn´t want to install all versions on the same RDSH server).

When a user opens an RDSH app from the first farm, they can copy and paste text to any other app in the same farm (e.g. they copy text from notepad and paste into Chrome).

However they cannot copy and paste text to an application in the second farm (cannot copy from notepad on the first farm to Chrome in the second farm).

I have enabled a Smart Policy with "Enable All" for the clipboard however the behavior persists.

Does anyone know if this is supported and, if so, what am I missing/what should I check?

If it is supported I am assuming it is a simple configuration somewhere but I don´t know where.

Can anyone help?

We have two provider VDCs tied to two diferent vSphere Clusters that are on different datacenters connected  by dark fiber. We'd like to have the possibility to migrate tenants from one Provider VDC to other, from vSphere point of viewI know it'ss possible to move all VMs related to the tenant (I understand this is not the way to do it) however  we're not sure if this is something that can accomplished in vCloud Director,  the tenants are using NSX edge services and the NSX transport zone is the same for both provider VDC.

By mistake we created the vmkernel port used for the NSX for vSphere transport zone in the wrong Distributed Switch, therefore the port group that manages the VXLAN traffic located is in the wrong DVS. This is a production environment with vcloud tenants using NSX Edge services, I really appreciate any idea to migrate that port group to the correct DVS,

Horizon 7.10, Windows Server 2016.

I created an RDSH linked clone farm (due to license restraints I couldn´t create an Instant clone farm).

However when I click the farm, in the summary tab I do not see the "Maintenance" button as appears for Instant clone farms.

Is this by design?

Or is the option available elsewhere?

I ask because one night the RDSH servers in the farm restarted by themselves and I couldn´t find any error messages before the restart so I assumed they were restarted by a maintenance task.

However if indeed there are maintenance tasks running on the farm, where do I need to navigate/edit to see the options?

We are running Horizon 7.10 with App Volumes 2.18, DEM 9.9 and Instant Clone desktops. I created an App Volumes writable template with a snapvol.cfg which only virtualizes a single directory, C:\AppVolumes, and I'm using that to hold the Outlook OST cache and OneDrive.

Outlook works well but OneDrive with Files on Demand does not. If a user tries to open a file that isn't in cache, they get error 0x800701085 (the cloud operation was unsuccessful) while the file downloads in the background. If they click "Try Again" or "Skip", the file will open successfully. If you have Explorer open during this process, you will see the file with a grey X icon disappear briefly and reappear without a grey X.

Has anyone else seen this before or do you have other recommendations for using OneDrive with Instant Clones and App Volumes?

After having upgraded to VMware Workstation 15 on my Windows 10x64 machine, each of my VMs shows a black flicker from time to time (once every 10 minutes or so).

This disturbance can be reproduced easily:

Simply start a VM with a Windows 10x64 OS installed and wait for about 10 seconds after having signed in to the guest OS. Then the first black flicker will occur:

After having opened a support ticket I'm having long discussions with VMware Support. They don't seem to be able to reproduce this issue.

My VCSA 6.5 was running perfectly fine with one ESXI 6.5 host and created couple of instances but after rebooting unable to login with the correct password.

I cannot revoke my ESXi host license as it was activated in VCSA, kindly advice to recover my VCSA without loosing anything.

Switching to Chrome and I am having issues running View Administrator.

1. I am getting Not Secure in the address bar

2. Once I logged in I allow the first Flash message, then a second one pops up and I have clicked Run Flash this time but it doesn't work.
