I'm wondering if anyone know if AppVol 4.1 will be implemented in JMP configuration and use in JMP Assignments in Horizon admin. We have working 2.18 environment in our Horizon 7.12 and is very helpful when dealing with assignments to a different departments.
I have upgraded to 4.1 in our TEST environment, but couldn't find a way to register in JMP configuration.

I have a question about this client. When installed on a PC and connecting to a VM via this client, does the VM holder (or company in this case), are they granted any special priveledges to alter or modify any of your system settings?
I ask because during this pandemic I have been issued a laptop with the client installed. However, I prefer running my own personal desktop and was given the choice to install this client and connect to the VDI this way.
My concerns are:
- activity monitoring (when using my local machine, not through the VM)
- removal of applications (again, on the client not the VM)
- any sort of wiping or administrative privileges granted to the client to perform such operations over the client (in this case the Windows desktop running the client).

I already did a brief research on the matter, but failed to find a question, so if this question has already been answered I am sorry for the re-post.
My main problem is the following:
I am using PowerCLI version 5.1 release 2 to write scripts and manage my vCloud Director.
I have found a way to add Users into an Organization using the following script:
$role = Search-Cloud -QueryType Role -Name "Organization Administrator" | Get-CIView
$org = Get-Org -Name OrgName
$user = New-Object VMware.VimAutomation.Cloud.Views.User
$user.Name ="UserName"
$user.Password = "Password"
$user.Role = $role.href
$user.IsEnabled = $true
$org.ExtensionData.createUser($user)
The user is created using the vCloud Director, inside the required organization.
However, I have not yet found a way how to remove a user from the vCloud using the PowerCLI environment.
If anyone has any idea on how to do that, please do tell!

I run a number of virtual machines as part of infrastructure testing and I've separated them from my local LAN by placing them in virtual networks configured within Fusion.
As the networking configuration is somewhat limited, I tend to run a pfsense firewall VM to connect all the LANs together and provide firewalling etc... as such, this VM is running pretty much anytime I power on my Mac. As a result, I'd like to be able to run it without a separate window.
I'm aware I can use the vmrun binary to do this, but a simple toggle in the Settings / General pane would be much simpler.
I am getting this error message for VCSA 7.0 - Update Planner "Unexpected error occurred while fetching the updates"

I am trying to get a Windows 7 VM to see my Windows 10 host machine via IP address. I set the network adapter to bridged, set the sharing settings to allow pings (I followed guides on stack exchange) yet I cannot ping the host from the guest. I need to be able to do this so that I can share activations for software from my host to my VM. Is there something I'm missing? Is there a guide somewhere I could follow to get this to work?
I create an iOS webclip and add it to the internal store. When I install it there it is. When I create an Android WebClip and click install it says it's installed but it's no where to be found. Even checked my Android for Work tab Chrome browser and the Personal side one and neither have the clip there either. Is that not supported?

I am new to using ESXi hosts on shared iSCSI datastore but pretty much have everything up and running however I am noticing a strange issue when browsing the files on the shared datastore.
When I browse the files on the datastore it takes ages to show the files when I switch between folders. If I go in to the events log on one of the hosts I see a heap of file lock errors logged.
Lock(s) held on file XXXXXXXX-ctk.vmdk by other host(s).
Exclusive Lock(s) held on a file on volume 5f2e9bde-d7f37ea2-2151-a0369f8af178. numHolders: 0. gblNumHolders: 0. Locking Host(s) MAC: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
it basically repeats these two error messages in the event log for every file in the folder.
The MAC address appears to be that of the host that is currently running the VM for whose folder I am browsing so that host having a lock on the files is normal I would think.
Am I correct in assuming that vCenter uses only one of the hosts in the cluster as a proxy to browse the iSCSI datastore? My reasoning is that all these errors only appear in only one hosts event log. If I down that particular host the events then appear in one of the other hosts events. I noted that if I browse folders for a VM that is running on the host that is currently proxying the errors do not appear and they directory loads instantly.
Is this normal behavior or have I got something not set correctly?
Everything else seems to run fine and there are no other errors other than these when I browse the datastore. It does not stop me from browsing the datastore it just takes a long time to load directory.

I'm using VDI which is "immediately updated" with linked clones, but I can't save my IE password (roaming from GPO) on re-login after logoff.
I am implementing the following knowledge, but I can save and roam "Windows Credentials", but I cannot save and roam "Web Credentials" in IE.
Does anyone have the wisdom to help?

The virtual machines network will be down for a while，About a few minutes, up to 20 minutes, and then it's done automatically
or login by vcenter console，Ping the gateway from inside the virtual machine to the outside,or resrat network service,it will be normal.
I suspect it is the ARP problem(the function of MAC address triggers ARP update) of Huawei switch.

I followed this instruction but still having the broken pipe problem:
cd /Libraryrm -rf ./StagedExtensions/Applications/VMware\ Fusion.appFor #1, I uninstalled by deleting the VMWare app in the application folder.
For #2, when I put it in the Terminal it says "no such file or directory found".

want to modify the RDM (Physical) compatibility mode from physical to virtual in 2 VMs configured with MSCluster services, where the VM's can be migrated (vMotion) if the hosts down.
Take the Vm's down to modify Physical to Virtual but the option is grayed out.

We will be moving from Standard to Distributed Switch in our virtual environment. My concern is around vCenter. We have 1 vCenter for each of our 2 data centres and they manage the other data centre (cross site). This was already in prior to me joining but it gives visibility of the environment if the data centre is partially down. If there is going to be a large downtime we can then easily move the esxi hosts/vms to the vCenter that is still up (remove and add to inventory). Easy
But when we go to DVS from my reading up on it this wont be achievable as the DVS configuration are on the vCenter so you cant easily move ESXi/VMs between vCenters. What is the best way to over come this. Would it be vCenter HA? We are running 6.7 as well
Also to add the reason we are moving to DVS is because the environment will be moving to Cisco ACI

We are in the process of building a VDI infrastructure and doing some test on a sandbox one.
We built a connection server, composer server and we have no issue to generate Linked clones.
When it comes to Instant clones I can never have instant clones machines created as it stops after the creation of the original templates. That templates is registered on Ad and after a certain time I get the following error message: Error during provisioning: Initial publish failed: Fault type is UNKNOWN_FAULT_FATAL - After waiting for 600 seconds internal template VM: vm-1657 is still has not finished customization. Giving up!
I read some information on that forum but didn't find any solution or lead to solve my problem.
Does anyone already had that issue and was able to go around.

I am writing a script to automate some pools creation since we are migrating from linked clones to instant clones and I have been facing an issue when it comes to the -Nics parameter. I know it's optional but due to VLANs and DCHP restrictions I would like to assign each pool their own network(s). Anyway someone can provide me a sample on how to use the parameter using a port group label as string.
