Reduce size of VM Disk?

Hello,

I have a client that has a ESXi 4.0. The person who set it up, set it up with 3 x 1TB drives, with 1 Datastore spanned across the 3 drives, with no redunancy, raid, or backup. It's my understanding of how datastores work, that this is a bad set up.

I want to recreate the datastores so there's one 1 datastore per drive, and I only have another 1TB drive to do it with, but one of the two VMs is set with a virtual disk size of 1TB, and I tried moving it to another 1TB drive, and it failed during the process, I think because of insufficient space. I was going to try and create new smaller virtual disks and clone the drives over, but the previous tech set up the servers with Dynamic Disks, instead of Basic and Acronis doesn't support cloning Dynamic Disks.

So I wanted to see if there is any other way to reduce the virtual disk size of the VMs so I can recreate the datastores. Or if anyone has any other suggestions for how I can go about recreating the datastores without losing the servers.

Any suggestions would be helpful, and let me know if i need to provide more information, thanks!
