Hi I am installing ESX 5.1 onto a few HP DL 585 servers with 4 x 16 Core AMD processors and 384GB of RAM. I'm now deploying larger VM guests 16/32/64GB workloads with some SQL VM guests. We use shared FC storage at the moment, 4GB FC but moving to 8GB hopefully this year. I was looking up a few posts about VMotion, just now we use a standard isolated 1GB network but I was thinking of moving to 10GB. For say placing hosts in maintenance would I see much improvement? For host VMotion or storage VMotion where will I see a benefit?
